Mila Trust me, cancel the checks. The talk off he gave you is what I use to use when I worked at Camco. It was the one we all got down to a fine art taught to us by management. They have no idea when the payments were made they feed you that bull so they can say, "Why would someone trying to defraud you pay something for 13 months? There are two types of fraud, Simple fraud and complicated fraud and if this is completed fraud you have to prove beyond a shawdow of doubt that it was not you and you'll have to press charges against them, so before this goes back on your credit, you better pay." I know that is exactly what they said to you. The person you talked to who had his talk off perfect had to be one of two people I know who taught us all that same talk-off. What was the guys name that told you all these lies?
See Mila there are what's called skip trace tools that all collection agencys use and I use in my business and if you enter a person's socoal it will pull up every address ever reported or used to recieve mail then you click on any address and it will pull up everyone who is ever lived at that address. That's how they can tell you when the account was opened. They look at the charge off date of the debt and look on the skip trace system to see what address was reported that year and tell read off that address and tell you , "The payments stopped at this address." They got you. Cancel the checks. Also be aware there is a huge probe against them right now by the federal trade comission and there are several class action law suits against them. I want to know the name of the guy who told you all this if you don't mind.
