Help with SOL for 2 CA's

Disputed ca #1 with EQ and it came back verified but they lowered the balance to $75. Sent DV letter to ca and just today received letter in response. This was for a cable company from March 1997. The letter claims that the bill is for service and equipment that the oc claims was not returned. They now say that the balance is $450. Please correct me if I am wrong, wouldn't this account fall under the open contract SOL? In my state, Indiana, the SOL is 6 years on open so this would be out correct? Also, wouldn't they be in violation since they verified and updated with a different balance than they actually say is owed? CA#2 - Asset Acceptance - attempting to collect. When 1st letter came in we sent DV letter and they responded with a nice little computer print out that says charged off in 1995. They are not currently reporting on DH's credit but I am afraid that they will try to reage the debt. Do I just need to send them a letter say the debt it past the SOL? I have heard that Asset is a pain to deal with so I want to handle them properly. Thanks! Patty
