Pulled my credit report in January 03. Disputed an account for $76. There was only partial name on the listing for the creditor and the credit reporting agency could not give it to me. They asked that I dispute it (which is what I was doing in the first place) So I disputed the account for $76 via CRRR. Then received a letter back from the CRA that it was verifited. I never heard another word. I gave them their 21 days to send me the verification information and then sent another letter via CRRR requesting copies of verification. They then sent me a letter back stating that they had 21 days to return information from the time of their receiving the second letter. So I'm waiting for their verification. In the meantime, I have notice on the first letter that they send me that this was from a hospital. Could be mine account, but I don't ever remember getting anything from this hospital. My question is after they verify that the charges are mine, can I send payment to the hospital and use HIPPA letter to have it removed from the credit report?
Live in Missour and debt is from Dec 1997.
