IT is a scam. First off, negative information like a chargeoff can only remain on your credit report for 7 years. They cannot legally place it back on your credit report. Also, this date would be well past the statute of limitations so they cannot legally take your to court either. They are scumbags who are trying to swindle you into paying a debt you no longer legally owe. You may email me at picantel4343@hotmail.com for additional help. I deal with time barred debts on this forum. So I do not get confused put the type of debt, name of cc if you have it, your state, and the age of the debt. IF you have their address and/or phone number that would be even better as there are 4 CAs under that name. I will help you get rid of them for good.
