This was telemarketers. They called everyday making similar offers to get me to take these magazines. They explained to me that I had excellent credit and these magazines were to be delivered at Professional courtesy prices. Supposedly I would only have to pay postage for them. The offer changed somewhat for the three reps I talked to but it was essentially the same. I decided to go ahead and take them for the reception room. They were to bill me every month and I was to pay them with a check. They asked for a credit card # to verify my identity.I balked at this, because I had never heard of such a thing. I explained that I did not want to pay for them with this credit card and they agreed not to bill it.They did record me saying it was alright to send the magazines and bill me,then receive a check in payment. I actually told them there would be no billing anything to my credit card. They agreed.A mailout was supposed to be sent explaining the company and the cancellation time limit.Nothing came. Then out of nowhere $65.00 a month started showing up on my card. I called the bank that has the credit card, and their resolutions dept.got the magazine people on the phone. We came to the conclusion that I was right and the bank made the magazine company put back the credit card charges.Everything was fine for about 2 weeks. Now the magazine company calls me everyday and informs me that the magazines were pre-paid and I cannot cancel the contract.I never had that option.I don't want a ding in my credit over this and I would like some peace, without the magazine company constantly calling. If I had sent a payment and it never got there,it would still be my fault. I'm damned if I do,damned if I don't.My lawyer says they won't send magazines without payment and the magazine company says that yes they are on the way.I do not have the watch they offered or the option to cancel, which I would love to do at this point.
