Ok, so have I been had or not? My accountant has copies of the letter and the 1099c and also a letter of continued collection activity and she advised waiting to file until next year, seeing as how they screwed up royally. I wondered why the person told me not to worry about filing the 1099c last week. Just told me to pay $850 of the now $1800 dollar chargeoff by mid August of this year. Sounds like somebody is floating up S*%% Creek, and maybe, for once, I've got the paddle!!
