Great site. Thought I'd describe my on-going saga.

Re-fied the house in January, received a copy of my credit report and found 2 bogus collection items on it. One was Boomtown Reno (casino) for $1025. On 1/13/03 I called them, talked to their acctg office and it was clear to them that the check was not written by me. Contacted Equifax the same day, and it was removed off my credit report by 2/12.

In April, I receive the standard JBC letter #1. I'm not a happy camper. I don't bother writing back to them, instead I write a certified registered letter to Boomtown describing what I have already gone through. No threats, but demanded a letter stating that the debt is not mine.

Received a letter from Boomtown dated 5/14 apologizing for the JBC letter and confirming that the debt is not mine. With their letter was a copy of the coversheet of a fax that Boomtown sent to JBC to "stop collections on this person NOW."

Now I receive JBC letter #2 dated 6/4 that if I don't pay within 20 days, that the "attached complaint against you for the amount stated therein will be filed in the Superior Court of your respective county."

I can hardly wait. Please take me to court. Can you say malicious persecution?
