Last night Creditors Exchange (Interchange??) made an offer to settle my husband's Wachovia/First USA cc for $5000 - balance of $9700. But they refused to send anything in the mail stating their offer would expire in 72 hours so they would have to fax their offer. I said well, he doesn't have access to a fax machine and he said well the offer will be null and void. The woman I originally talked to transfered me to him because I started asking questions regarding how the original tradeline would be updated, whether he would receive a 1099-C, etc. When he got on the phone he acted like he was pissed because I had an idea of how it all worked and my husband didn't have a clue.

Just curious if the 72 hour thing is normal. We are in SC and DLA was 7/02.

We were wanting to get this settled because we are wanting to buy another house next year and I don't thin we will be able to with this outstanding. Also, didn't want to take the chance of being sued by them.
