I'm trying to find out some information on this company. My elderly in-laws were contacted by phone over a recent charge off that they didn't know about. A company calling itself "Worldwide Associates Purchasing Corp." said that if they didn't pay the full amount of the credit card debt immediately, they would seize their house. They also claimed to have sent a letter that my in-laws still haven't received. I got the person on the other end of the phone to tell me the date of this supposed letter and the content, which was that my in-laws were to contact them within 30 days. The first phone call came only 9 days after the letter that Worldwide claimed to send was dated. Also, when I called the 800 number Worldwide gave my in-laws, they claimed to be a law firm called "Moore and Associates". The only thing is, I can't find any such law firm on the GA state bar web site or in Martindale Hubbell. Also, there is no listing for any such law firm at the address given to me. Instead, that address (with maybe a different suite number) is listed as "Worldwide Asset Management". Does anybody know anything about this company? It just seems really squirrely. My mother-in-law is terrified of being sued because of her and her husband's medical conditions.
