Yes,

WhyChat as ever speaks truth. Once you answer the suit and show up and sit down with the jaundiced, edematous, poxy-skinned 'mediator' provided as a - ha ha ha - 'free' service for your 'benefit' and his scumbag komrade, the collection lawyer and look them both in the eye and say - nothing, and sign - nothing, they will realize that you are not to be trifled with.
As WhyChat speaks, so do they do, filing suits in hope no one shows to answer them, thus they get their default judgement. Remember, these scumpanies are cash-vacuums. Money is supposed to flow in. They file, it costs, but they hope you're a no show and now they have a better chance of getting something.
But you smash them back by showing up and refusing to tell them what they wish to hear. You refuse to admit indebtnedness, you sign nothing. This will take an hour or more of court time, very expensive to both the collection-slime lawyer and the court system. The Mediator's job as Taziblue tells you is to con you into folding like a cheap camera with defeatist talk.
You know, 'you're going to lose, just agree with the creditor', or, "When you lose the sheriff will come to your home and get your stuff." The latter line of bullshale is actually spoken by a local alleged judge who carries on like someone eminently certifiable.
He tells defendants in his little circus that they will lose, that when they lose the sheriff will go to their homes and take all.
Now, if this isn't an illegal threat, I don't know what is, yet this in-lieu judge gets away with this strongarm thuggery week after week after week. Hope the condos the credit card thugs bought for hizzoner in the Grenadines are nicely appointed, nice to think at least when you sell out it's for something worthwhile.
Don't believe anything these connivers tell you. Many people discover that by contesting the absurd claims of creditors and their supposed lawyers, in fact the sheriff does not come and 'get their stuff' because they in fact win, and many times the creditor drops the case. Hey, why does he want to fight one defendant when he can get twenty, thirty or more default judgements and collect on probably half of them?
It's the difference between appearing for trial in person, or sitting back in his outhouse basement office, snorting crack and stabbing at the cockroaches that scurry around his desk with a toothpick, dipping them in amber colored mayo, mmmmm good. Lunch fit for collection lawyer swine.

Stabbingly,

Keyser Soze

"No competent lawyer, believe me, no one in the legal profession willingly devolves to the level
of collection lawyer, no one."
- Name withheld at request of counsel,
quote is from an attorney who formerly
worked in the banking industry and
actualy interviewed with collections
firms, conscience played a major role in
decision to practice in unrelated areas
of law.
