This same thing happened to me! I was trying to get a car loan and my credit came back with a much lower score than I expected. The copy of my report says I owe $472 for a fingerhut account I never opened but that I'm disputing it (yes, disputing an account I never knew about). Says I opened it August of last year.
what's this all about? what can you do about this?!
