1. Hire an consumer lawyer with FDCPA/Texas Debt Collection Act experience. Check on www.naca.com

2. Check out www.budhibbs.com for background.

3. Send written instructions to the lawyer not to contact you and include request for validation of the consumer debt being collected.

4. Have you recorded any phone conversations with the lawyer or his staff? Often an effective way to prove abuse, deception, etc.

5. Check to see how many days you have to appeal the judgment.
