I'm in California. Foreclosures are handled by trustees - they're nonjudicial sales.

I'm guessing that where you are they are judicial foreclosures. That's why I was thinking that Mortgage Electronic Service was the trustee in the foreclosure which would just mean that the lender hands it over to someone to act as the agent in proceeding with the foreclosure but the lender doesn't ever change.

It does get confusing. :-)

I believe that they would have to show some kind of fraud or concealment of assets, etc. to stand a chance of re-opening the bankruptcy. Not getting a notice just isn't enough. You listed the lender that you believed to be correct. If the debt is dischargeable it's dischargeable. What difference would it have made if they had known about it? If they bought a loan from Alliance that was being discharged in bankruptcy, let them take up their damages with Alliance.

I still wouldn't worry and let us know what happens.
