i have had a situation in which a person had taken out a personal loan and the funds were to be used for tuition. they then filed bankruptcy but this debt, according to the courts, was not allowed to be discharged because the law states you cannot file bk on a student loan...and, because the loans were used for tuition (as stated on application for loan) it was not discharged. a little f.y.i for you
