I have a similar situation. First Select has a judgment against me (KY, April/00 Approx $1550). A month ago I attempted to call First Select to get information on how to pay this off/get it removed. I got a recording when I entered my original account number that it had been sold to Credigy Receivables. To date, I do not believe that I have ever received anything from Credigy or anyone else on this account. I watch my credit reports and no one has looked at my file in over a year. How should I handle getting this judgment removed?

Since calling First Select, I found this message board and learned about SOL's. So, now I want to lay low because my SOL should run out 12/03 (I have several open accounts that I stopped paying on in Dec '98 - but only 1 judgment). I want to buy a house next year. Any advice? Should I just wait to contact Credigy next year? Thanks for any help. Sorry for a posting crammed full of so much info.
