I've seen some messages about SOL. I have a credit agency that just contacted me about a past account from 1993 (in TN)for an old cable bill, which I don't even remember having. They told me I had to have copies of 3 bills from that time period showing I did not live at that address to dispute it. I told them I did temporarily live at the address, but I was living with friends and never even had my name on the lease. Can they collect on this debt? Do I really have to have those things to dispute the bill? Is this even legal that they can file a new report from an account of 10 years ago? I think it's all BS, but I don't want to have anything negative on my credit over it. Help!!
