why chat-validation fell on deaf ears with collector and cra

Why chat I sent out a validation letter 2 months ago. Received letter from collector stating I owe $$$$. Sent green receipt to cra's. Called them today. They stated only the company posting can change trade-line.. any advice on what do do next?
