Discover worked with me..they lower my interest to 5% for a year..that helped alot..Citibank worked with me some but not that much..Fleet services were just total turds..I never used their card that much..When my husband died and I needed to book plane tickets for his funeral, they cut my limit down to what I owed them..I was not late or over my credit limit..I continued to pay them, then when I got to about a 300.00 balance, they cancelled my card..nice folks..

I am by no means an expert..but you should get alot of very valuable information here.. you are definitely going to be bombarded with phone calls..if you do not have caller id, get it!! Do not answer unknown calls..bill collectors will say absolutely anything..laws or no laws..they know that 99% of the time, they can get away with it..you may have better luck finding an attorney in CA to help you..good luck..and remember, don't pick up the unknown calls..
