HELP, pls! scenario: i am married, bought a house as sole/sep, my husb quitclaim fr beginning. he has tons of credit card debts he is not paying. all these accts are his ONLY. we keep our finances separate: credit, checking, savings. QUESTION: somehow a collection agency got a hold of cell phone #, called me and told me that I may be liable for HIS SOLE debt, because we are married. and that my property may be attached? can they do this? IS THERE SUCH THING AS SEPARATE CREDIT SIMILAR TO COMMUNITY PROPERTY?
