I am two months behind on a loan I have through Washington Mutual. I am having financial difficulties. That aside, a representative from the company, the original creditor, called me at work. Yesterday, I told them that I will get in trouble if I receive phone calls at work and that there is not a private place to talk to them. Today, they called again and I told them I had already told them not to call me at work and that if they call another time, I will consider it harrassment. The lady replied that she will keep calling me because I have not returned their phone calls and kept demanding I set up a payment plan. I told her I will get in trouble at work if I continued calling, but she would not let it go. So, I hung up on her. She then called back, our receptionist recognized her voice and when I picked up the extension, she hung up on me. My question is this allowed by the original creditor. I know if it was a collection agency, this would be a violation, but does anything like calling someone at work apply to the original creditor? Please help cause I have a feeling these guys will still bug me at work.
