Can you get Mortgage Loan with a Charge Off?

I am in SC and have a charge off on my credit. I am curious if you can still obtain a mortgage loan with this on there? It is dated 12/02 and is for $9000? We are hoping to get another house in 2 years and was just curious if this would knock out our chances completely or can you find some lenders that will finance you if you have a lot of $ to put down???? TIA!
