In January I neglected to log an automatic insurance payment in my checkbook which resulted in my bounceing a check to an auto parts store. As soon as I was made aware of what I had done I contacted the store, apologized, and asked what they required to make it right. I was told they dealt with telecheck and was given a phone number.I contacted telecheck and was given an address and reference number and amount to send which I did with a US Postal Money Order. Two weeks later I was plagued dailey with calls from Telecheck demanding payment, They insisted they had never recieved my money order. Finally after two weeks of these calls I agreed to give a check by phone and have the money order tracked. When I got the results from the tracking it turns out Telecheck had deposited the money order before their first phone call to me. Now I have paid them twice. I have faxed copies of the PO tracking and they say its not legible. I made a copy and sent it CRRR to their office and they deny having recieved it. I can prove it was paid twice and its not a large sum of money ($49.40). Yes this was my fault but this $29.40 cost me $22.00 service at my bank. and now the check amount + $20.00 twice at telecheck and they refuse to refund the second payment. I made a mistake and it cost me but I paid it and now they made a mistake and they wont even address it. I have also given them the tracking #s off the money order 3 times now at their request so they could track it. They deposited the PO order on 2/03/03. What can I do?
