I agree with Eric. Getting a mortgage with a fresh bk will be expensive interest rate wise and will come with a 2 year pre payment penalty to make it even more expensive to re-fi as your bk ages and scores increase. Prehaps talk with your landlord about extending the agreement for 18 months or so to get past the 2 year window? Or, ask if they'll do owner financing with the payments amortized over 30 years with a 2 or 3 year ballon. Being patient may well be a profitable move for you.
