"In general, if you get a default judgment, you can then be served with a discovery motion, in which you must tell the truth about YOUR assets,if you have a joint account or joint property in the State you are in, you must divulge your interest IF you are primary on the account, "

I was wondering if you could expand on this discovery motion issue a little more.
Let's say that when I go to court in a few days from now, they don't accept my settlement offer
and they win their default judgement.

I'm assuming at the court date coming up..I don't have to go thru this discovery process THEN..because this court date is just to determine whether I owe it..and whether they get their default judgement. Is this correct?

Assuming they then get a default judgement and then decide to file for a discovery motion..
my question is do I have to disclose at that hearing what my assets are in another state?

As I noted above, the property I have an interest in is not in this state. Even at that, I only own 1/8th of the property. I don't know how they determine primary ownership but
I own the least out of everyone involved. This property is also in a life estate..meaning me and the other owners gave the property to someone else for the remainder of their life to
use and derive all benefit from. When they die..
it comes back to us.

I was also wondering about the discovery process as it relates to whatever bank account I have.
This is ALSO in another state right now. I am primary on that. Would I have to disclose that
at a discovery hearing if it's in another state as well?

Right now, I have basically nothing in this state. Maybe 50 bucks in a checking account...
and whatever modest furnishings are in my apt.
And, as I noted, I currently have no job..and no income.

My main question is, at the court date coming up..do I have to tell them the details of this out of state bank account, and property I own?

And, if it went further to a discovery process..would I have to tell them about these out of state things then?

Thanks for your reply. :)
