Check your credit reports, all 3, and get some dates to determine the SOL first. You can use charge-off date, come-off date, and/or date of last activity to determine the start of the SOL.

If you know, for a fact, that it is beyond the SOL, I wouldn't bother with validation, just send WhyChat's cease and desist letter for expired SOL debts.

For proper validation they must provide a copy of your signature on an agreement AND a full accounting of the debt, from day one, showing all payments, charges, fees, etc. to verify the balance they are claiming you owe. A print-out of what the CA already has in its computers is NOT validation.
