BK before marriage?

I have been considering filing Bankruptcy for a while now. I live in California. I owe approx 32K in unsecured debt and havent paid any of it in almost a year. I am getting married in April of next year. Should I file the bankruptcy before I get married so the community property laws dont affect me, or doesn't it matter since all the debt was incurred under my name? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
