Declined and looking for my credit check!

Hi all! I'm new here, I just found this today. I recently (about 3 months ago)closed off a debt I owed for roughly $600. It had been moved from Discover to a collection agency, and I paid the entire thing off. The collection agency informed me they would contact the "Big 3" and let them know I'd paid and was debt free. However, since then, I applied for a CC and was declined. I threw out the paperwork, but now see that I can get a free Credit Check within 60 days of being declined. Where and how do I do this? Thanks so much!
