Some funny asides to share re pestering bill collectors: Dad used to send envelopes full of rusty nuts & bolts! He went to our utility room into the junk box and loaded up a #10 envelope with them until it bulged (must've weighed 12 ounces). I was 7 years old and -- well, I was impressed! hehe He reinforced the envelope with a bunch of Scotch tape -- and off it went! Another time, he would write "DECEASED" on the envelopes and place them back in the mail -- again & again & again. Of course, they could check somewhere to see if he was really dead -- but ya GOTTA love how it'd mess with their heads.
