Just received a notice from CMI on an account that was paid in full in February of this year. I received a letter from them last month and I checked with the company that they were attempting to collect on and they confirmed that this account was paid in full and that they would take care of CMI. I then received this letter today saying that since I did not pay this account, that they were turning in to the credit bureau. I called the company and they refused to accept the fact that this account has been payed and said they would only remove this from my report if I paid them more money. I told them I would not be doing this. Any suggestions on how to get these people to 1.) remove the deliquent account reporting and 2.) admit that this account should not have been reported.
