I have a collection attorney calling my neighbor claiming my phone has been disconnected. They also called me and left a message telling me they would call a few of my neighbors to have them get a message to me, just in case my phone was "broke". I'm in SC. The last payment was 1/02. Should I send them a letter pointing out their violations? Should I send a validation? I have drafted a letter pointing out the violations with the statement that further violations will be reported to the FTC and my local AG office. In the same letter I am requesting full validation of this alleged debt. Now I would just like a bit of advice as to whether I should send it or not - I don't want to kick off a lawsuit. Advice please?
