There are a set of requirements for a "legal" repo, according to the UCC, besides the notice of sale, there must be an accounting of the proceeds, including where the sale was, how much the car sold for, what the payoff was, and how they arrived at the difference (deficiency= payoff $ - proceeds of sale= deficiency)

If they are claiming this $$ amount of deficiency from YOU, they must show that you receive these notices.
