Are there any laws covering fair debt collection by original creditors. I know the FDCPA does not necessarily cover the original creditor, so what can you do to prevent their abuse such as calling you at work when they have been informed it is against the rules at your work? Or the same company calling several times in a day when you tell them you don't have money...or what just happened the other day, they told me they would reposess my computer, but I called the main branch and they agreed that was not in my contract, so the rep was making threats and lying...I am so frustrated.
