Collection calls really would shake me up . . . but, as chance would have it, I will be in Asia for six months or even more. In so doing, I will be vacating my apartment, leaving no forwarding address, cancelling my phone and cell phone services -- even giving up my ISP and my email address! I am pretty much doing these things ANYWAY, so I'm thinking this would be the perfect time. (Regarding my payments/accounts, all is quiet now, all 'hunky-dory' -- TOO quiet, calm before the storm . . .) The only thing they might see is some mutual funds for RETIREMENT, shich I consider non-negotiably SACROSANCT! This would be my only weak spot. Do they automatically SEE this on some database, and if so, how much would this encourage them to sue? I'm thinking that at the very least, by the time I return they will be befuddled and somewhat interested in settling. . . .
