I have a first and second mortgage. Bankruptcy is almost certain. I have been advised that I could contact the first mortgage holder and offer to release the property to them and that they would offer to buy out the second. This way they would stay away from all the bankruptcy issues and the second would get some of their money. If this were to happen would I be released from these loans.
