Well, they DO add interest at very high rates. Their settlement offer demand that it had to be paid 'today' is bull. Collectors get bonuses if they meet certain quotas and at the end of the month they're all scrambling to make quota to get that big Burger King coupon bonus. So, they turn up the heat at the end of the month. Wait 30-60 days.. they'll come along with another of these 'one time only settlement offers'. If you catch them at the end of the month you may have some negotiating leverage ;)
