Through my divorce process my ex-husband decided to stop paying for his vehicle on which I had cosigned. Of course, this resulted in the repossession of the vehicle. My divorce was finalized in 2000 in NM. At that time a separation of debts was documented in a Judgement and Final Divorce Decree. On the Judgement and Final Divorce Decree, my ex-husband was ordered to pay all amounts due in relation to this vehicle. Can a collection agency still try to collect from me even if a court determined the debt was someone else's responsibility?
