There is little one can add to the fine a advice you've received from LadynRed and Observer. You have this on tape? Wonderful, the FTC loves tape, they just absolutely love it. One of their biggest frustrations is knowing that everything an abused debtor tells them about a collector's vicious tongue is true, but for lack of tape it's hearsay, inadmissible.
But, you have tape. ANd as LadynRed so happily points out, it's tape just loaded with violations. Not one, not two, not even three perhaps, just loaded with them. Oh goody goody. Costly for them, good for you.
Looks like Sherman might just be paying you for their smartness, a wonderful thought indeed for this writer to ponder whilst watching the sun rise. Let's hope they keep this sort of getting-to-know you approach to calling up, maybe they'll be hanging out with fellow protozoans from National Check control and OSI, swapping spit behind the courthouse candy machine. Good place for em. Next stop - the shower, where perhaps these perps will all be "Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock".
