A civil judgment, AKA 'money judgment' is for money owed, typically. Not only does it remain a debt as long is the judgment is in force, it carries with it its own interest and the availability of enforcement actions to collect on the judgment.

How long they last depends on what state you're in and whether or not they can be renewed.
