Since this is within SOL, I don't think I'll be sending another letter in 15 days. I just wanted them to stop calling my neighbors. They ticked me off.....

This particular debt (there are lots!) started out at ~$5,000 -- the last correspondance I got from them was in January - at that time it was right at $10,000.

It appears the OC has sold this account, though I wasn't formally notified of such. However, the Creditor this attorney is collecting for is noone I've ever heard of, so I can honestly say I don't owe his client any money.

Don't they have to prove I owe them before they sue me? I could just as easily send them a letter saying they owe me $10,000... doesn't make it so.

BTW - I didn't send a C&D exactly.... I sent them a letter stating their representative was violating the FDCPA all over the place, and if they didn't reign her in, I would be filing complaints with the FTC and my AG office. I did state I will continue to correspond with them via mail for my protection as well as theirs. I told them people like their representative made me wary of discussing the situation on the phone.

Just one more point - I sent a validation request to another ca I owe about the same amount to more than 6 months ago - haven't heard a peep about that debt since.
