Wolpoff & Scabieson are being sued by a class action lawyer in California as well as possibly Ed Combs et al. One could trot out a lengthy list of derogatory, desultory, anatomically correct words to describe the nature of this alleged law firm and its charming tactics. For brevity's sake, they are a collection law firm. As one lawyer who interviewed for another collection law firm put it, the job was theirs for the asking but they graciously declined and backed away carefully, with the overwhelming feeling that they needed a de-lousing shower and their clothes stood in need of a steam cleaning. A remark was made about the plaster-haired prez of the 'law' firm as well, you get the idea.
Keep a log, record calls, take notes. Tell them nothing if they manage to break through your call screening, be very careful about what you put into writing. These people can be defeated by you using tools available from this board. Good health to you.
