"Notice of Judgment"?

I received a letter which stated "Notice of Judgment" at the top of it. Does this imply a judgment has already occurred, in which case I can contact the county clerk's office to verify? I never received any information or paperwork prior to receiving this letter from an attorney (they say they are not a collection agency, hmm). Thanks!
