SOL (state u reside in or state debt was incured in?)

I'm new to all this. What I want to know is does the SOL apply to the state in which you live or the state in which you resided when the account was opened? I live in Georgia now but most of my debts were incured when I lived in California and or Arizonia. So do I go by GA's Statue of Limitations? Thanks for any light anyone can shine on this situation.
