First, Ford is usually very easy to work with. In fact, I believe that Ford has a policy of extending up to two payments a year - you were only two payments behind - they could have just given you an extension and you would have been current. I wonder why they didn't offer you that option, they should have.

Second, $3400 for a car you owed $11,000... on, were you really that "upside down" on the car? If not, I would suggest looking at your state laws regarding the sale of reppossessed property.

Third, they may try to get a judgment for the $11,000 unless they don't think they'll be able to collect on it. Having a job or property in your name gives them a reason to believe they can collect.
