If a scavenger has your account and sues you can you say you don't legally owe them sinse the original agreement wasn't with them?

If they CAN sue for the whole amount, would you recommend offering 15 cents on the dollar knowing that that will still give them a profit?

Seeing as it was their decision to buy it for 2-10 cents on the dollar, I'd assune not giving them a penny.
