I am not expert but those debt consolidation places seem to be a lot of trouble and seem to make situations worse. I went to CCC and they actually turned me down telling me I didn't even make enough money to pay the credit card bills I had. (ironic considering the credit card companies kept giving me cards and I actually told the CC companies the truth about my earning) Anyhow I think you can do it yourself if you are a good negotiator. It is better to send letters rather than talk to people on the phone. That way you have something in writing. Try to get the creditors to lower the interest rates on your cards if you promise to pay on time. Might want to consider closing some of your accounts also. Good luck.
