The last payment made on the account with DMS was 2/06/03. I called them on 2/27/03 to ask why they were refusing to work with my credit counseling agency. They said that they couldn't accept it. I replied that I wished to pay the debt but would not if they could not lower my apr which was at a grand 29.9%. They said they couldn't work with me at this point. Thus I cancelled the payment with my program and along came a letter with the attorneys at law letterhead stating that my account had been turned over to them for collections. I've tried calling DMB and have been rudely hung up on stating that I must contact the law firm. Yes, the summons is legal. I was served with it and it was filed in my county court.
