Talked to the accountant, and she said to get the IRS to state that the 1099c was filed in error! I'd alot rather see them pay the IRS the money, that the $7500 to the attorney! Does this make any sense? I told DD if she doesn't remember getting the 1099c (the kids always file in early Feb each year) that the accountant would never have gotten it, so how could it be an error?
