SA is a bad debt BUYER. They buy up portfolios of bad debts, that makes THEM the owner of your debt. Then they farm it out to other collection agencies. I've got 2 accounts that SA bought - one has been 'assigned' to Alegis Group which IS a sister company, subsidiary or DBA of SA - either way it amounts to being the SAME company. I forget who has the other account, SA "assigned" that one too, but I know that one isn't an affiliate of SA.

Unfortunately, its all legal. Once they BUY it, they can pretty much do anything they want with it. These idiots from Alegis keep calling me on my cell phone - a violation that I'm logging. My cell phone service started something new on July 1 - they will now itemize and show the originating number for INCOMING calls !! So.. I have great evidence of their non-compliance !!!!
