I have an old debt from 1989 with Discover card.I did not take bankruptcy or anything ,but I lost my job back then and could not pay this.Whitewing obtained a credit report on me showing capability now so the harassment has started. 3 or 4 letters a week + phone calls.I realize that the statute of limitations is up twice on this debt. I have no intentions of paying it.I have called the pnone # to opt out about 6 weeks ago.Can they still pull a credit report on me ? I realize they are limited at this point and can just harass me with letters and phone calls.What would be the appropriate action to take ?
