Hello. You need to be aware of this:
Ford Motor Credit has a class action suit in California for people like you and me.

I lost my job and did a vol repo, but my vehicle was sold for more than I owed (I had very low miles and the vehicle was still a hot item). I even got a refund check from them. However, I never received any paperwork regarding deficiency balance, a chance to catch up, or a time/date/location of the public or private sale of the vehicle.
My credit shows chargeoff / write-off.

Being in California, I got the notice of class action as they violated California finance laws.
Pending court approval, they are agreeing to dismiss balance owed, and remove the derog from all the credit bureaus.
Check with an attorney in your area to see if this can apply to you in your state. Call this number 415 433-3001, and ask to have someone return your call to see if you need to / or can file in your state.
Good luck
